Live Nation Presents: RØZ – Oye, Estados Unidos in the Garage
Live Nation Presents: RØZ on Saturday, October 18th 2025 in Austin, TX.
About the Artist: Artist and producer duo RØZ, comprised of Manolo Cabrera and Hugo Lara, has quickly
established itself as one of the most innovative projects in Mexico’s electronic music
scene. RØZ has transitioned from digital platforms to selling out music venues in less
than three years, challenging genre conventions with their chameleon-like musical
approach.
Manolo Cabrera began his musical journey inspired by electronic music festivals after
movies, specifically those from Tomorrowland. His first steps as an artist led him to
experiment with trap before venturing into Tropical House and Future Bass, tracks he
shared on SoundCloud.
Hugo Lara, meanwhile, took his first musical steps in classical music. At just four years
old, he began playing violin to the music of Italian composer Antonio Lucio Vivaldi. During
his adolescence, influential artists like Skrillex also drew him to EDM. He started
producing music using GarageBand, which eventually became the starting point for his
first collaborations with Manolo.
Hugo and Manolo’s paths crossed during high school. Initially, each maintained their solo
project, RØZ (Manolo) and Larah (Hugo), collaborating informally and exchanging
feedback on their respective productions. “He created things with synths that I didn’t know
how to make,” explains Manolo, while Hugo appreciated the freshness and originality in
his future partner’s compositions.
The duo officially consolidated after working on a track with Tom & Collins. When deciding
which name to use for the release, they merged under the name RØZ, marking the formal
beginning of the duo.
RØZ’s musical evolution has been deliberate. After an initial phase of exploration, during
which they admit to trying to emulate established sounds, they discover their true identity
by choosing to break with conventions. “When our sound truly changed, that’s when we
realized there were no rules,” says Hugo.
This breakthrough allowed them to develop a distinctive style incorporating drum and
bass, trap, reggaeton, and UKG elements in a single production. Their shift to Spanish
lyrics, implemented in mid-2022, coincided with the consolidation of their sonic approach
and marked a turning point in their trajectory.
Unlike other Mexican electronic music projects that seek to replicate international trends,
RØZ is committed to developing its own identity, including its relationship with its
audience. “Instead of seeing the people who follow us as fans, we see them as friends,”
explains Manolo.
The duo’s impact continues to expand through organic collaborations. RØZ has worked
with artists like Natt Calma and Yvng Lucas and will soon release a collaboration with
Peso Pluma.
In the past year, the duo has achieved significant career milestones, including sold-out
performances at Supremo in Mexico City, Indie Rocks, and C3 Stage in Guadalajara, as
well as appearances at events such as the Mexico Formula 1 Grand Prix and the Tecate
Emblema festival. Their most recent performance at EDC Mexico, in February 2025,
demonstrated RØZ’s stage power, drawing a sea of people who vibrated with the duo at
the Dos Equis stage in Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez. In August 2025, the duo will
take the stage at Baja Beach Fest in Rosarito, Baja California.
RØZ represents a turning point in the Mexican electronic music scene. In an environment
previously dominated by what they describe as “DJ influencers,” the duo leads a
movement with its own identity that resonates with local audiences and the international
industry.
